Starting the Chapter
Hi Everyone! We’re Fahian and Eamin, two high school students from New York City!
Almost exactly one year ago, our friends David and Nick started a project then called Consulate Review Hong Kong. They sought to explore the world despite the Coronavirus pandemic by visiting nations’ Hong Kong diplomatic offices, learning about the cultural, economic, and political ties that these offices represent.
We’re here to do the same thing in our home, New York! NYC is just as cosmopolitan a city as Hong Kong. Every single United Nations member state retains a diplomatic presence in the city and a vast majority have consular offices. These consulates and embassies are a good representation of the diversity of this city. As groups of immigrants have moved to New York City over time, diplomatic offices from their home nations have helped maintain cultural ties as well as keep in contact with their relatives back home. We’re here to explore these extremely diverse consulates and how their nations interact with the city as well as to connect these consulates with youth.
Join us as we visit 116 nations right here in New York City, the home of the UN!
