Permanent Mission of Syria to the United Nations πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡Ύ
820 2nd Ave 15th Floor, New York, NY 10017

At Syria’s permanent mission to the United Nations we met with Deputy Permanent Representative Mr. Koussay Aldahhak. Mr. Al Dahhak is a veteran diplomat in Syria’s ministry of foreign affairs who has mainly spent his time as a diplomat at Syria’s permanent mission here in New York. As a founding member of the United Nations Syria is not new when it comes to dealing with the UN. We discussed topics ranging from Syria’s functions within the United Nations to the current COVID-19 situation in Syria. One major point that Mr. Al Dahhak mentioned was vaccine inequality between countries. Nobody is safe until everybody is safe. Even if rich nations have extremely high vaccination rates, if other countries are not as well vaccinated they pose a threat to the rest of the world. With this, wealthier countries including the United States should strive to increase vaccination in developing nations who can not afford these vaccines.
