Consulate-General of Mongolia

Consulate-General of Mongolia πŸ‡²πŸ‡³

Location: Unit 1206, 12 floor Tower 1, Lippo Centre 89 Queensway, Admiralty

Located in the Lippo Center in Admiralty, the Mongolian Consulate General is a newer addition to the wide landscape of foreign countries in Hong Kong. Entering the Mongolian Consulate felt like we were walking into the lobby of a Four Seasons hotel. So far, this has been the most modern consulate we have visited, with a large flag and lights backlighting the sleek seating area. As we entered the premises, we were greeted by a kind female consulate official who agreed to answer our questions (we didn’t catch your name so if you are seeing this please DM us so we can mention you). As explained by the lady, the Mongolian consulate was relatively new, built in 2011, which explained all the fancy decor. As of now, the consulate serves mostly as a liaison for business to business cooperation between Hong Kong and Mongolian companies. Recently they have been working on issuing Mongolian government bonds on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in addition to helping launch IPO’s (initial public offerings) such as for Mongolian mining companies on the same exchange. Although the Mongolian population in Hong Kong consists of less than 100 individuals, with daily flights to and from Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia’s capital city) tourism from Hong Kong to Mongolia is on the rise. Overall, the Consulate was welcoming and comfortable. Thank you to the Mongolian Consulate General for being a great host!
