Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations πŸ‡§πŸ‡¦

For my meeting at the permanent mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations I met with first secretary Mr. Sasa Milanovic. Mr. Milanovic explained the various functions of Bosnia within the United Nations. As a country they were elected to the security council (2010-2011). Additionally, as a country that used to have peacekeepers in the country, a proud achievement for Bosnia is the contribution of its own troops to assist with peacekeeping missions across the globe. Concerning his personal career Mr. Milanovic has has an unusual path to working at the UN. Back in Bosnia he was an entrepreneur turned politician who worked as the international liaison officer for the ruling political party. As a smaller sized mission with a diplomatic staff of 4-6 Bosnia has to really find areas which are of great importance to the country. Although they do participate in all committees their main areas of concern surround the rule of law and the fight against terrorism. I would like to thank Mr. Milanovic for his time and I really enjoyed learning more about the concerns of a baltic nation within the United Nations system!
